It builds permanent things
The Legacy Village is a R5,000,000 undertaking. It will not be built out of once-off donations. It will be built by a small number of people who decide to carry a part of it.
Patrons and Major Giving
Patronage is how the Foundation moves from month-to-month relief to permanent structures — a Village, a funded programme year, a child's whole school journey. This is a confidential conversation, not a checkout.
Why patronage matters
The Foundation was born out of the life of Sr. Elizabeth Funie Shabalala — a woman who gave her working life to caring for other people. The work carried in her name is real, it is delivered by hand, and it is currently funded month by month. Patronage is what turns that into something that can be planned, staffed, reported on and sustained.

Every patron commitment is designated, recorded and reported. You are told exactly what your contribution funded, and you receive a Section 18A tax certificate where applicable.
Patrons are recognised on the Wall of Honour as Legacy Builders, or remain entirely anonymous. That choice is yours and it is respected without question.
Annual Patron Levels
Commitments are annual and may be paid monthly, quarterly or in a single instalment. All amounts are in South African rand.
Patron Level
R500,000 and above annually
The highest level of personal partnership with the Foundation. A Founding Patron underwrites the long-term stability of the mission and stands beside the family that carries it.
Patron Level
R250,000 annually
For patrons who want to build something that outlives them — funding a whole programme area for a full year rather than a single moment of relief.
Patron Level
R100,000 annually
Directed at The Legacy Village — the physical home of the Foundation's long-term work. A Benefactor funds a defined part of the build or its running costs.
Patron Level
R50,000 annually
An entry point into the patron community for individuals and family trusts who want a sustained, meaningful commitment rather than once-off giving.
Organisations, Trusts and Companies
For companies, family trusts, grantmakers and institutions, partnership is structured around your reporting requirements as much as our delivery needs.
R250,000 and above annually — bespoke
A multi-year corporate partnership covering a named programme, employee participation and joint reporting. Structured around your B-BBEE socio-economic development and ESG reporting requirements.
R100,000 – R250,000 annually
Underwrite one programme — Feed a Family, Give a Girl Dignity or Support a Child's School Journey — for a full year, with quarterly delivery reporting.
Valued in kind
Land, buildings, materials, vehicles, technology, professional services or logistics. For The Legacy Village in particular, in-kind partnership can be worth more than cash.
By proposal
Grant funding against a written proposal. The Foundation's Organisation Profile, Impact Portfolio and Partnership Prospectus are available as downloadable documents for due diligence.
Due diligence documents
Three institutional documents are available to download before you commit to anything.
How it works
Major giving is a relationship. This is the process from first enquiry to first report.
01
You send the confidential form below. Nothing is published, nothing is charged and no commitment is made.
02
The Founder or the Chief Financial Officer replies within five working days to arrange a conversation.
03
Amount, payment rhythm, designated purpose, recognition preference and reporting schedule are put in writing.
04
You receive your Section 18A certificate and scheduled written reports on exactly what your commitment funded.
Confidential Enquiry
This enquiry is seen only by the Foundation's executive leadership. It is not published anywhere and it does not commit you to anything.
Every contribution matters, at every level. There are many other ways to stand with this work.
