Executive Head: Strategic Partnerships, Marketing and Business Development

Her role

HER ROLE IN THE FOUNDATION

As Executive Head of Strategic Partnerships, Marketing and Business Development, Zininzi contributes to the growth, visibility and long-term sustainability of the Sister EF Legacy of Purpose Foundation.

She helps identify and develop relationships with companies, institutions, government stakeholders, community organisations and potential supporters whose resources, knowledge or influence can strengthen the Foundation's work.

Her role combines strategy with implementation. She supports the Foundation in positioning its programmes professionally, recognising appropriate opportunities, preparing for institutional engagement and building partnerships with clear responsibilities and mutual value.

She works alongside the Founder and Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Financial Officer.

The Founder protects the vision and institutional direction.

The Chief Financial Officer protects financial stewardship and sustainability.

Zininzi helps build the relationships, opportunities and strategic pathways through which the mission can grow.

Responsibilities

What her work covers

Strategic partnership development; corporate and institutional engagement; and government and stakeholder relationships.

Marketing strategy; public positioning and organisational visibility; and sponsorship and resource-development opportunities.

Proposal and tender-strategy coordination; business-development opportunities; community-project development; responsible organisational expansion; and project support in Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.

Early life

Mthatha beginnings

Zininzi Silulwane was born on 19 November 1973 and grew up in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.

She is one of eight children born to the late Mr Benson Silulwane and Mrs Mirriam Silulwane, in a home where responsibility was shared and effort was expected.

Education

Study and qualification

She completed Standard 10 in 1992 and went on to study at the University of Transkei, now Walter Sisulu University.

She studied Information Science and completed an Honours degree in Geography, graduating in 1998.

Working life

Johannesburg and enterprise

She relocated to Johannesburg in 2000 and began her business activities from 2004.

Her experience spans more than two decades in private and government service-provider environments, where she developed the relationship-building, delivery and negotiation skills she now applies to institutional partnerships.

Community

Community projects

Alongside her business work, she has been involved in community projects in Johannesburg and the Eastern Cape.

That grounding keeps her partnership work practical: relationships are judged by what actually reaches people, not by how they look on paper.

Standards

How she works

She leads by preparation rather than performance. Commitments have owners, scope is agreed in writing, and work is closed out before new work is opened.

Partnership, in her view, is a working relationship with obligations on both sides — not a logo exchange.

Accountability

Honest reporting

The Foundation reports only what it can evidence. Partnership commitments are recorded, confirmed and reported within that same standard.

She works alongside the Chief Financial Officer so that resources raised are matched to the purpose for which they were given.

Safeguarding

Dignity in delivery

Every person the Foundation serves has a right to privacy, safety and respect. Partnership and marketing work must never trade a beneficiary's dignity for visibility.

No story is published without informed consent.

Working with her

Beginning a conversation

Partners, funders and community organisations who wish to work with the Foundation's executive team may make contact through the Foundation's partnership channels.

Enquiries are answered directly, and scope is agreed in writing before delivery begins.
