1. Spirit of the community
We are a global home for purpose, healing and second chances. We treat every person — beneficiary, volunteer, partner, donor, visitor — with the dignity, compassion and belief in their potential that defined Sr. Elizabeth Funie Shabalala's life.
2. What we encourage
- Speak with kindness, even in disagreement.
- Share stories that lift, restore and inspire.
- Honour confidentiality and the privacy of others.
- Make room for different cultures, faiths and lived experiences.
- Celebrate wins — yours, ours and the community's.
3. What we do not allow
- Harassment, bullying, hate speech or threats of any kind.
- Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, faith, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality or socio-economic background.
- Sharing of private information without consent.
- Content that compromises the safety or dignity of children or vulnerable adults.
- Promotion of violence, self-harm or illegal activity.
- Spam, scams, soliciting outside our official channels, or impersonating the Foundation, our founder or our representatives.
- Sharing graphic or exploitative imagery, even when well-intentioned.
4. Online spaces
These guidelines apply to every Foundation-managed channel: our website, comment sections, social media accounts, community groups, email correspondence and any WhatsApp or messaging community in our name. They also apply when you publicly identify yourself as part of the Foundation.
5. Children online
We never publish identifying information about children without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Community members must do the same.
6. Reporting a breach
If you see or experience something that breaches these guidelines, please tell us: email info@eflegacy.org. Reports are handled confidentially and we will respond within five working days.
7. Consequences
Depending on the nature of the breach, we may delete content, restrict participation, remove members from our channels and, where the law requires it, report the matter to the relevant authorities.
8. Appeals
If you believe an action against you was made in error, you may appeal in writing to info@eflegacy.org. We will review the appeal and respond within ten working days.
Questions about this policy? Email info@eflegacy.org and a member of our team will respond within five working days.
